Bear & Bunny, 2012

Scrap art | 11X16.5″ | $200

When my friends Meghan and Mike donated their flag mount, I knew it was going to eventually be a bear or a monkey, and after I worked on it for a few days, it became this genial bear, who took the bunny’s insult literally.

The kite is a beautiful pottery shard donated by Roy, the fabled relic hunter and generous patron of Sam Hundley scrap art. Bear’s body is a very old ax that was found by another relic hunter in Arizona. His ears are Prince Albert tobacco tin lids. The bunny is made up of odd finds also donated by Roy.

Wired and ready to hang.
