Ray Davies, 11.17.14
“Ray Davies,” scrap art, 244×36″ | $650
When I came upon the accordion-shaped galvanized metal piece, the top was gray and colorless. When I flipped it over, I saw the beautiful orange color.
The crackled, painted fragment of wood was found in a salvage store and all I did with it was cut the nose out of the neck and glue it on.
When it was together, it looked to me like Ray Davies, the lead singer and song writer of the Kinks, one of my favorite British Invasion bands.
Wired and ready to hang.
