TR 08.25.16

“TR” – scrap art assemblage – 18×26″ – made of a found baseball hide, plastic comb, musical instrument fragment, metal washer, rusty metal thing and oven tray.

I’d had the rusty thing with the cracked white paint for years and just recently looked at it with fresh eyes and discovered it was Teddy Roosevelt – the solid jaw, short hair, prominent teeth – all in mid-roar.

Same thing with the baseball hide… I’d found it decades ago in California and always intended it to be made into a female form somehow… but it was too great a mustache for Teddy not to use it here.
